Saracen's High Fibre-Light Chaff is a 100% natural fiber-rich blend of alfalfa and soft straw. It is a low calorie chaff product ideal for horses and ponies in light work. It can be used to replace all or part of the daily forage ration and is low in sugars and starch, making it suitable for horses with a tendency to put on weight (good doers) or for those on a low calorie diet and/or with a tendency to suffer from laminitis.
This product is also molasses free and has been formulated from non-GMO British alfalfa and straw coated with a light layer of rapeseed oil. It is also suitable for horses with respiratory problems, as the dust is removed in the manufacturing process and dried at high temperatures, which reduces the presence of inhalation particles. This chaff is free of preservatives, colorants and additives.
Alfalfa provides quality nutrients, is naturally low in sugars and starch and is rich in antioxidants. In addition to functioning as an acid neutralizer, which reduces the incidence of gastric ulcers, it is rich in calcium, which supports bone development and promotes hoof health and quality. This alternative to fodder contains quality proteins that allow optimal muscle development and helps maintain digestive health, since its fiber content increases chewing time.

This complementary fibre-based feed for horses designed to be fed in addition to forage and compound feed at a typical daily feeding rate of 100 g per 100 kg bodyweight. Clean fresh water should be available. Should only be fed to the target species.
